2 Indians who scored 300+ runs and took 10+ wickets in a single IPL season

The Indian Premier League is just a day away from going all guns blazing. The sixteenth edition of the IPL will see Chennai Super Kings taking on Gujarat Titans in the tournament opener on March 31 at the world’s largest cricket stadium.

The intriguing fixture will kick off at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It will be quite interesting to see which team will go all the way to the finals and win the title. Ever since the IPL was inaugurated in 2008, we have witnessed as many as fifteen seasons.

In these seasons, several players made a name for themselves by letting their performances do the talking. It is certainly not easy to score more runs and take wickets for the team in an IPL season. However, some players have accomplished the feat.

In fact, only two Indians have scored 300+ runs and taken 10 wickets in a single IPL season. Now, in this article, we will take a look at those two players below.

1. Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma is the captain of Mumbai Indians and has won five titles at the franchise. Besides that, he is also the only one to win six titles as a player (five titles at Mumbai Indians and one title at Deccan Chargers).

He played for Deccan Chargers in the first three seasons of the IPL. However, in the IPL 2009 season, that is during the title-winning season, Rohit Sharma scored 362 runs and took as many as eleven wickets to his name.

2. Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya is the other Indian who has a unique record as an Indian when it comes to the cash-rich Indian Premier League. Notably, he is also the only Indian all-rounder to achieve the rare double of 400-plus runs and 10+ wickets in a single IPL season.

Hardik Pandya achieved the feat in IPL 2019 season while he was playing for Mumbai Indians. He ended up scoring 402 runs and took as many as 14 wickets to his name.
