Rohit Sharma

Indian captain Rohit Sharma was last seen in cricketing action during the second ODI against the Bangladesh cricket team where he picked up an untimely injury to his thumb and because of this, he had to leave the field early to seek medical assistance from the hospital in Mirpur.

He sustained the injury at the slip and he felt discomfort upon taking the blow to his thumb. However, he came out to bat at No.9 despite his dislocated thumb and also nearly pulled off one of the greatest ODI wins for India.

Nonetheless, the Tigers pulled off the ropes from the jaws of the defeat as they won the game by a whisker of 5 runs. Rohit Sharma might gave ended up on the losing side but he certainly won the hearts of the cricket fans for his ‘never give up’ attitude.

He scored a quickfire fifty off 27 balls where he struck as many as five maximums and three boundaries. He was expected to return to cricketing action during the Test series but the team management decided not to play him for his safety.

As per the reports, he is expected to return to cricketing action for Sri Lanka’s tour of India (three T20Is followed by three ODIs). In the latest development, it has been learnt that Rohit Sharma has batted in the nets at Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai.

It seems that Rohit Sharma has recovered from his dislocated thumb and has started hitting the nets ahead of the upcoming home assignments against Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Australia in the first three months of the next calendar year.

Well, 2022 hasn’t been kind to Rohit Sharma as he ended this calendar year without scoring a century in international cricket for the first time since 2013. It will be quite interesting to see how Rohit Sharma approaches the upcoming year.
