The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is absolutely making sure that the ODI-bound Indian players who will be a part of the IPL 2023 will stay active and injury-free leading into the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.

The richest cricket body has already notified the National Cricket Academy to take care of the Indian players who will be a part of the sixteenth edition of the IPL. It literally means that the NCA will work along with the IPL franchisees on the players’ workload in the build-up to ICC ODI World Cup 2023.

It is important for the players to stay fit and active to feature in the ODI World Cup, which is slated to be held in India, entirely for the first time in history. On top of that, it is also vital for the senior players to stay fit and get ready for the main event in October-November.

NCA will work along with IPL teams about players’ workload in the build-up to ICC ODI WC 2023

The upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League will be held in April-May. Several players will be taking part in the showpiece event but at the same time, NCA will work along with IPL teams on the workload of Indian players.

Earlier, the BCCI selected 20 players for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, according to Cricbuzz. So, the 20 players will be fielded in all the bilateral series on a rotational basis till the ODI World Cup which will be held later this year in India.

The Indian team management will be monitoring the players’ performances in the bilateral ODI series such that it comes up with a balanced 15-man squad for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. The BCCI also made it clear that the Yo-Yo (fitness test) and Dexa test (done density test) will be a part of the selection criteria.
