Team India secured a thriller win over Sri Lanka in the T20I opener in Mumbai. Meanwhile, the second T20I between Team India and Sri Lanka is being held in Pune. India’s T20I captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and chose to bowl first.

The Sri Lankan cricket team capitalized on the chances to better effect as they dominated the bowling attack with relative ease. Arshdeep Singh, and Shivam Mavi failed to bring the best out of themselves as they leaked too many deliveries.

In fact, Arshdeep Singh ran through the worst phase of his T20I career as he overstepped several times, thus leading to too many no-balls. Arshdeep Singh’s misjudgement gifted the opposition team with plenty of free hits.

Sri Lanka did convert those free hits by scoring as many runs as possible. Overall, the Indian bowlers namely Arshdeep Singh, Shivam Mavi and Umran Malik conceded too many runs. Umran Malik took 3 wickets but conceded 48 runs whereas Axar Patel took 2 wickets and conceded 24 runs in 4 overs.

India bowls seven no-balls in the second T20I against Sri Lanka

Indian bowlers gave away 12 extras wherein it including seven no-balls, four wides and one leg bye. This is also the first time in the history of Indian cricket, the bowlers have bowled as many as seven no-balls in a T20I game.

Arshdeep Singh bowled five no-balls whereas the likes of Shivam Mavi and Umran Malik bowled one no-ball apiece. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka posted a formidable total on the board with 206/6 in 20 overs. Dasun Shanaka top-scored with 56 off 22 balls (2 fours, 6 sixes). India lost the game by 16 runs.
