‘Another L For Chelsea’-Fans React As Nordi Mukiele Is Set To Snub Chelsea To Sign With PSG

According to Fabrizio Romano, Paris Saint-Germain is getting very close to completing the transfer of RB Leipzig’s defender Nordi Mukiele. Terms have been entirely agreed upon by both the club and the player.

The Ligue 1 winners were the overwhelming favorites to sign Mukiele in a move for €16 million, but Chelsea’s late interest threatened to torpedo the deal.

The Blues have been long-time admirers of Mukiele, along with their rivals in the Premier League, Manchester United. Over the past week or so, the Blues have become frustrated in their pursuit of Sevilla defender Jules Kounde, although they still hope to complete a transfer before Barcelona.

However, it seems as if all chances of acquiring Mukiele have been dashed as sources revealed to 90min that a deal with PSG is in its final stages of negotiation. The Frenchman has reached an agreement over his personal terms, and it is anticipated that the 24-year-old will sign a long-term deal in the capital of France. He will now go through a medical examination before the transfer is officially finalized.

Mukiele is nearing the last 12 months of his contract with Leipzig and seems to be headed back to France after an absence of four years. As a result, he is now available at a significantly reduced price. Before moving to Germany, he appeared in 56 games for Montpellier between the years 2017 and 2018. Since then, he has featured in close to 150 games across all leagues in Germany.

Mukiele will give competition for Achraf Hakimi at right back, but he is also capable of playing center back if new PSG manager Christophe Galtier wants to make use of his flexibility.
