“Another season without Jof-Rah” – Twitter reacts as Jasprit Bumrah will be out of IPL 2023 and WTC 2023 final

"Another season without Jof-Rah" - Twitter reacts as Jasprit Bumrah will be out of IPL 2023 and WTC 2023 final

Jasprit Bumrah, an important fast bowler for India, continues to have fitness problems. Reports indicate that Bumrah, who is 29 years old, will not participate in the next 16th season of the Indian Premier League.

Bumrah has been out for five months, and his chances of making a timely comeback are grim. Bumrah, already sidelined by a back stress fracture and forced to miss the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, had some right glute soreness just before a three-game ODI series against Sri Lanka last month.

According to Cricbuzz, the severity of Bumrah’s glute injury has increased since it was first reported. Bumrah will need a lot more time to get back to full match fitness, hence the likelihood of his playing in IPL 2023 decreases daily.

According to sources close to the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), Bumrah isn’t feeling “comfortable,” and he may not be able to play in the ICC World Test Championship 2021-2023 final in June.

Jasprit Bumrah will likely not play in IPL 2023 and WTC final 2023

If this turns out to be true, it would be devastating news for the Indian cricket team, who are already missing wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant for an indefinite amount of time.

As Bumrah is one of the 15 cricketers retained by Mumbai Indians before the IPL 2023 auction, the team will be unable to locate a suitable replacement. At the IPL 2022 mega auction, MI surprisingly won the rights to the injured English fast bowler Jofra Archer. They did so because they expected Archer and Bumrah to head up their bowling attack.

If Bumrah is unable to play any part in the 2023 Indian Premier League, Mumbai’s plan would fail for the second year in a row, just as it did when Archer was out for the whole tournament in 2022.
