Arsenal Transfer News: According to reports, Arsenal is planning to organize a medical exam for their upcoming acquisition of Oleksandr Zinchenko.
The Ukraine international Zinchenko has agreed to personal terms on a prospective £30 million transfer to the Emirates Stadium with the Gunners. This brings them closer to completing a deal to acquire his services from Manchester City.
In his exclusive post for CaughtOffside, Fabrizio Romano revealed when the deal may be formally confirmed. In his article, Romano detailed why Zinchenko picked Arsenal over Everton and provided a timeline for when the announcement could take place.
Now the Italian has another update on the Zinchenko transfer story, tweeting that the Gunners are preparing to organize a medical exam for the 25-year-old midfielder and sort out formal contracts for the player.
This seems to be an interesting piece of business for Arsenal, who need more alternatives at left-back and in midfield, two positions in which Zinchenko excels and for which they had a need.
Moreover, Arsenal now has personal terms in place with the Ukraine international after having already had a bid, reported to be £30million + £2million in possible add-ons ($36million + $2.4million), approved by their Premier League competitors.
Arsenal Transfer News: Oleksandr Zinchenko is set for a move to the Emirates
Zinchenko will depart City’s pre-season tour to undergo a medical examination and sign with the north London club if all goes according to plan.
Zinchenko often plays in the midfield for his nation, but Guardiola has mostly deployed him on the left side of the defense for his club. His adaptability is something that will be appealing to Arsenal, even though they have been striving to improve in a particular position on the field.
Zinchenko has had a great deal of success while playing for City, as seen by the club’s four victories in both the Premier League and the Carabao Cup. In addition to that, he has won an FA Cup and participated in the final of the Champions League.
After the acquisitions of Marquinhos, Matt Turner, Fabio Vieira, and Gabriel Jesus, Zinchenko would be Arsenal’s fifth new player to join the club over the summer.
