"Aussies trying the reverse Uno on us by playing their B team and trying to win" - Twitter reacts as Cameron Green is set to miss the first Test against India

In what comes as bad news to the Australian national cricket team, young all-rounder Cameron Green is unlikely to take part in the first Test against the Aussies with a fractured finger. The Test opener of the Border Gavaskar Trophy series will be held on February 9 (Thursday) at VCA Stadium in Nagpur.

The young all-rounder has been ruled out of the Nagpur Test because he hasn’t fully recovered from the fractured finger that he sustained during the Boxing Day Test against the South African national cricket team at home.

In fact, the youngster has been out of cricketing action ever since. He is currently nursing his injury and it seems that it will take some time for him to recover and is expected to be back in action for the second Test match which will be held on February 17 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

If reports doing the rounds are to be believed, Cameron Green didn’t bat during the team’s training drills at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium. On the other hand, the young all-rounder was seen doing some fitness training.

Australian team management went for a cautious approach to make sure that his injury wouldn’t turn from bad to worse. This is precisely the reason why the team management decided not to play Green in the first Test.

Meanwhile, Steve Smith confirmed that the youngster hasn’t regained complete fitness. The Australian vice-captain further added that the youngster is yet to sweat it out in the training drills.

It seems that Australia will stick to either Matt Renshaw or Peter Handscomb in the playing XI against India. Smith who was quoted as saying by ESPN, echoed that he doesn’t think Cameron Green will play in the first Test.
