Avesh Khan despondent about exclusion from the Indian cricket team

Once Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the Indian cricket team, there were some major frowns on the visage of the Indian cricket team. A serious question that kept on coming back at the Indian echelons was that who was going to take up the massive mantle that was left empty by India’s ace quick.

Siraj and Mohammed Shami came forth with what seems like the most important shift of all time as they kept India buoyed in all these times and did the job with clinical distinction leaving behind a sour taste in the bowlers mouths.

Here is what Avesh Khan had to say about his exclusion from the Indian cricket team

However, in the midst of all the glitz and glam, there was one man who was confined to the wraps of darkness as he couldn’t really kick in with the stride that was being expected of him and India paid a hefty price.

Avesh Khan, the man responsible for his own decline put up a staunch show in the IPL that earned him an international call-up. However, post that the failure to keep himself afloat in the same pace has left him reeling with the Indian management allowing him no leeway at all.

Talking to the Hindustan Times Cricket, he said, “Twice I was ruled out because I was not feeling well. People might judge that on a few occasions I went expensive but in today’s cricket 6 out of ten times bowlers have a bad day. I’m not complaining or giving excuses but that’s the truth. Now I have forgotten everything; instead I’m living in the present. When selection happens it will happen. Performing is in my hand and selection is not. So I have stopped thinking about it.”

“I have played for India with white ball but I want to represent the Indian Test team and for that I’m working hard. I knew I needed to step up for MP because how many times do we see a team trailing bouncing to win matches in Ranji Trophy. If I’m good I need to stand up and take the responsibility of taking my team through. It was a complete team effort and we played like a team today”, concluded Avesh.
