Babar Azam rates BBL above IPL and Harbhajan Singh comes up with a hilarious response

Babar Azam rates BBL above IPL and Harbhajan Singh comes up with a hilarious response

In terms of players involved, level of popularity, and amount of money made, the Indian Premier League (IPL) is unrivalled. The Big Bash League, the Pakistan Super League, the South African Twenty20 League, etc. are the other Twenty20 competitions available.

Babar was recently seen on film being urged to choose between the Indian Premier League and the Big Bash League. Many were taken aback when the Pakistani skipper opted to play in Australia’s T20 competition rather than India’s. Fans responded in different ways to his statement on social media, with even retired India cricketer Harbhajan Singh weighing in.

Harbhajan Singh has a hilarious reaction as Babar Azam rates Big Bash League better than the IPL

“IPL or Big Bash, which league do you like the most?”, Babar was asked.

“The conditions over there in Australia are different. The pitches over there are really fast and you get to learn a lot. Whereas in IPL, you get the same Asian conditions,” Babar said in response.

Harbhajan posted a laughing emoji in response to the news on Twitter.

Season 8 of the Pakistan Super League is now keeping Babar very busy. Against Islamabad United on Thursday, the squad’s talismanic batsman swung the bat well and guided his side to win. He set the tempo early and often, hitting 64 runs off of 39 balls to help the Peshawar Zalmi reach their total of 183. Islamabad’s reply of 171 runs was not enough to keep them in the race to the final.

Speaking of his side’s win, Babar said: “The way the fast bowlers executed and came back, it was outstanding. The ball started to reverse after 10 overs. We couldn’t finish well with the bat, we were 20 runs short. There’s always room for improvement. We need to bowl well in the first six overs.”

On Friday, Zalmi will play Lahore Qalandars in the second Elimination.
