“Bro is made out of glass” – Twitter erupts as Jofra Archer has been ruled out of IPL 2023

Mumbai Indians have been going through ups and downs in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League. Although they have been performing well in fragments, they haven’t been able to come up with complete or clinical performances consistently this season.

Meanwhile, the MI franchise were dealt a big blow as their marquee fast bowler Jofra Archer has been ruled out of the rest of the IPL 2023 season with an injury. The MI franchise confirmed the news on their official Twitter handle. Jofra Archer has been dealing with fitness issues over the last few years.

Even though he made a comeback to the game this season, there hasn’t been any sign of improvement in terms of his bowling performances. For the record, the five-time IPL champions purchased him for INR 8 crore at the IPL 2022 mega auction in Bengaluru.

However, the right-arm fast bowler couldn’t feature for Rohit Sharma and Co due to an injury. After recovering from the injury, he turned up for Mumbai Indians this season but he failed to bring the best out of himself in the five games he played.

Chris Jordan replaces Jofra Archer for MI in IPL 2023

Jofra Archer managed to take only two wickets for Mumbai Indians this season at an economy rate of 9.50. His recent appearance for Mumbai Indians came against Chennai Super Kings where he went wicketless in the game. This clearly goes to show that he couldn’t hit the peak due to fitness issues.

Meanwhile, Chris Jordan has replaced the injured Jofra Archer for Mumbai Indians in the remainder of the season. Earlier, Jofra Archer missed several games for the England cricket team in the last two years due to injury issues.

He last played Test cricket for England back in February 2021. The right-arm fast bowler is expected to make England’s squad for the Ashes 2023 which starts from June 16 in Birmingham.
