“Champion players won’t be calm for a long time” – Twitter reacts as Ben Stokes gets dismissed for cheap scores first two games of IPL 2023

England international Ben Stokes hogged the limelight in the IPL 2023 mini-auction in Kochi where he became the most expensive player for Chennai Super Kings. The four-time IPL champions acquired the services of the all-rounder for INR 16.25 crore.

There were plenty of expectations but the big-money signing disappointed the fans so far. However, Ben Stokes failed to bring the best out of himself in the first two games of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League.

Ben Stokes was expected to go all guns blazing this season. As it turned out, he scored just 7 runs in the tournament opener against Gujarat Titans at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Ben Stokes gets dismissed for cheap scores first two games of IPL 2023

Ben Stokes who featured as a specialist batsman for Chennai Super Kings was dismissed for a cheap score in the first game. During the second game against Lucknow Super Giants, Ben Stokes once again failed to live up to his reputation.

The big-money signing scored just 8 runs off 8 balls where he struck one boundary and was dismissed by Avesh Khan in the last ball of the 17th over. It has been a disappointing start for Ben Stokes this season and he will be looking forward to making a rebound soon.

Chennai Super Kings lost the first game against Gujarat Titans. The defending champions beat CSK by 5 wickets. Talking about the second game, CSK posted a humongous total of 217 for the loss of seven wickets in their quota of 20 overs.
