“Comeback soon champ..time to shut the mouths of some people” – Twitter reacts as Jasprit Bumrah had a successful back surgery and he is doing fine

"Comeback soon champ..time to shut the mouths of some people" - Twitter reacts as Jasprit Bumrah had a successful back surgery and he is doing fine

Jasprit Bumrah, a pace bowler for Team India, recently had surgery in New Zealand and is recovering well. Dr Rowan Schouten, an internationally known orthopedic surgeon who has operated on cricketers such as James Pattinson and Jofra Archer, performed the procedure.

Since last year, Bumrah’s back has been giving him difficulties, preventing him from participating in crucial tournaments like the 2022 Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia. Since last September, he has not participated in any competitive cricket.

Bumrah’s return was predicted several times before this year, but the severity of his injury ended such hopes. The top fast bowler ultimately decided to get surgery to fix the problem.

It has been reported on Cricbuzz that Bumrah would be out of action for close to 24 weeks due to surgery. Hence, he will be unable to participate in the 2023 IPL season or the Asia Cup in 2023. If India advances to the WTC final in June, the cricketer from Gujarat will not be able to play in the championship game.

The 2023 ODI World Cup will be held in India in October/November, and it is hoped that Bumrah will be fully healthy by then.

The hospital has appeared reluctant to respond despite widespread indications that Bumrah’s procedure was a success.

“Any questions regarding Jasprit Bumrah will be best directed to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI),” Cricbuzz quoted a hospital official as saying.

The Indian cricket governing body, the BCCI, has not yet commented on the star fast bowler. The ODI World Cup is coming up quickly, but it is expected that Bumrah would have had plenty of time to practice by the time he starts bowling at the nets in August.
