Royal Challengers Bangalore were dealt with a massive blow as their star batter Rajat Patidar has been ruled out of the entire edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Rajat Patidar was initially expected to miss the first half of this season only.

Even the RCB team management was pretty much confident that the cricketer will recover in time and feature in the second half of the IPL. However, as it turned out, it seems that his recovery process will take some time.

Now, the RCB franchise has now confirmed that Rajat Patidar has been ruled out of the IPL 2023 with an Achilles heel injury. Meanwhile, the coaches and RCB management decided not to name a replacement player for him as of now.

Rajat Patidar is ruled out of IPL 2023

Royal Challengers Bangalore took to their official Twitter handle and then posted the latest update on Rajat Patidar. The franchise mentioned that Rajat Patidar has been ruled out of the sixteenth edition of the IPL 2023 owing to an Achilles Heel injury.

Furthermore, the franchise wished the cricketer a quick recovery. The franchise further added that they will continue to support the cricketer during the recovery process. Rajat Patidar played a substantial role in the Eliminator against Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2022 season.

He helped RCB post 207/4 in 20 overs with his spectacular century in the crucial encounter. Rajat Patidar chipped in with an unbeaten 112* off just 54 balls where he composed his innings with the help of 12 boundaries and 7 sixes to his name.

He maintained a strike rate of 204.41 and drew plaudits for his stupendous knock. In response, Lucknow Super Giants could score 193/6 in 20 overs and lose the game by 14 runs.

Talking about this season, RCB kick-started their campaign on a grand note as they got the better of Mumbai Indians by eight wickets at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
