Smith has been making waves at Dungannon Swifts, where he has made 10 appearances for the first squad and scored his first senior goal. Dungannon Swifts first-team boss Dean Shiels called him “unplayable” due to his play.

A number of big teams have shown interest in Smith despite his recent extension with the club. It has been speculated that the player may want to leave in order to further his career, and Dan Ashworth, the sporting director of Newcastle United, is well-known for recruiting promising young players who go on to star for top European teams.
