Royal Challengers Bangalore opened their IPL 2023 account with a remarkable win over Mumbai Indians in their first game at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Faf du Plessis and Co beat Mumbai Indians by eight wickets.

On the other side of the coin, Kolkata Knight Riders ran through a disappointing start to the season as they lost to Punjab Kings by seven runs (DLS method). Meanwhile, KKR hosted RCB in the 9th game of the IPL at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

The two-time IPL champions struggled to get going after they were reduced to 89/5. However, the likes of Shardul Thakur and Rinku Singh steadied the ship by adding 103 runs for the fifth wicket.

The duo turned it around by playing a fearless brand of cricket. In the end, KKR posted 204/7 in their designated quota of 20 overs. On the other hand, Faf du Plessis and Co failed to live up to their reputation as they ended up losing the game by 81 runs.

After the game, Bollywood star, Shah Rukh Khan met former RCB skipper, Virat Kohli. The duo were seen talking with each other and the picture of the same spread like wildfire on social media.

When the match came to a close, there was an intense battle between the fans of SRK and the fans of Kohli. However, these two legends came close to each other and had a healthy interaction, which is more than enough to put an end to the battle between their fans.

Kolkata Knight Riders’ spinners namely Varun Chakravarthy registered 4/15 in 3.4 overs whereas Sunil Narine registered 2/16. Suyash Sharma took 3 wickets to his name as KKR crumbled to a mere 123 in the run-chase.
