Australian national cricket team extended their surreal dominance in the longest format of the game by letting their performances do the talking in the second Test match against the South African cricket team at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Earlier, the Aussies won the first Test by six wickets and took the first lead in the three-match Test series and they currently hold the numero uno spot in the ICC World Test Championship points table.

The second Test match is also tilting in favour of the Aussies as they are now in a commanding position. Earlier, Australia restricted South Africa to 189 in the first innings as Cameron Green ripped through the defence of Proteas’ batting line-up by bagging his first-ever fifer in Test cricket.

Meanwhile, Australia’s top batsman Steve Smith reserved the highest respect for David Warner after the latter played brilliantly well in the second Test at the MCG. Warner shut the critics by scoring his third double-century.

After the end of the second day’s play, Steve Smith said Warner was seeing the ball quite well today. He also hopes David Warner keeps playing for long as he likes in his cricketing career.

David Warner performed a celebration after scoring his third double century in Tests and got retired hurt. As a result, he had to walk off the field with the assistance of a trainer. Warner brought up his double ton in 254 balls where he struck 16 fours and 2 sixes to his name.

Steve Smith also looked good for his 85 runs where he struck nine fours and a six. The right-handed batter added 239 run partnership alongside David Warner for the third wicket which steered the hosts into the comfort zone. Australia scored 386/3 and have a healthy lead of 197 runs.
