“Dream touch in Ranji Trophy continues for Sarfaraz Khan” – Twitter reacts as Sarfaraz Khan scores his 12th century from 50 innings

Mumbai cricketer Sarfaraz Khan has been in surreal form in the Ranji Trophy tournament. The right-handed batsman continued his dream touch in the tournament by smashing his 12th century during the ongoing match against Tamil Nadu at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.

The 25-year-old has time and again made a bold statement to the Indian selectors by chipping in with a series of consistent scores for Mumbai in domestic cricket. However, he is yet to receive a call-up from the national cricket team.

The right-handed batter dominated the bowling attack by smacking as many as 19 boundaries and a six. He scored his twelfth century from 50 innings in first-class cricket. The Mumbai cricket team largely benefitted from his work rate in the first innings.

Sarfaraz Khan scores his 12th century from 50 innings

Tanush Kotian was the other player who contributed to the team in the lower order as he chipped in with 71 runs including eight fours and a six. On the other hand, Mohit Avasthi scored 69 runs including nine fours and a six.

Sarfaraz Khan was the pick of the batters for the Mumbai cricket team as he scored 162 runs to his name. In the end, Mumbai posted a formidable total of 481 at the expense of all the ten wickets in the first innings.

On the other side of the coin, Tamil Nadu played 16 overs before the second day’s play came to a close. They posted 62/1 at end of Day 2. Tushar Deshpande made an early breakthrough for Mumbai as he got rid of dangerous wicketkeeper-batsman N Nagadeesan for 27 (4 fours).

Sai Sudharsan and Baba Aparajith are batting on 16 and 18 respectively as Tamil Nadu trail by 275 runs. Sarfaraz Khan’s stupendous knock was the talking point of the game. He has scored 3337 runs at a staggering batting average in excess of 71 in first-class cricket. Apart from twelve centuries, he has also scored nine fifties to his name.
