"Even he is not happy" - Twitter reacts after Virat Kohli scores 50 off 40 balls against PBKS in IPL 2023

Virat Kohli who returned as Royal Challengers Bangalore captain since IPL 2021 literally made his presence count at the crease during the 27th game against Punjab Kings at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.

Punjab Kings won the toss and opted to bowl first. Virat Kohli is leading the team because Faf du Plessis would not take the field due to a bruised rib. Faf du Plessis came out to bat for RCB as an impact player and scored a sterling fifty off 31 balls.

Notably, this is also his 29th half-century in the Indian Premier League. Moreover, this is also his fourth IPL fifty in six innings of IPL 2023, which is quite a magnificent achievement. Interestingly, Faf du Plessis is also the first player to score 300 runs in this season’s IPL.

Virat Kohli wasn’t really impressed with the way he approached the game against Punjab Kings in the ongoing fixture in Mohali. The right-handed batsman brought up his fifty off 40 deliveries, which is indeed shocking considering a player of his calibre.

The 34-year-old stalwart struggled to score runs at a rapid pace but ensured building a fruitful partnership with Faf du Plessis. The opening pair added 137 runs before Virat Kohli departed for 59 off 47 balls (5 fours and a six) as he fell prey to Harpreet Brar’s delivery.

At the time of writing this piece, Royal Challengers Bangalore posted 154/3 in 18 overs. Faf du Plessis top-scored with RCB for 84 off 56 balls with the help of five boundaries and five hits over the fence.
