The 26th game of IPL 2023 between Lucknow Super Giants and Rajasthan Royals might be a low-scoring affair but the way things panned out in the end, kept the fans on the edge of their seats at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.

Talking about the game, Rajasthan Royals’ captain Sanju Samson won the toss and opted to bowl first. Batting first, the Lucknow-based franchise was able to post a modest total of 154 for the loss of seven wickets in their quota of 20 overs.

Kyle Mayers top-scored with 51 off 42 balls where he composed his innings with the help of four boundaries and three hits over the fence. On the contrary, Ravichandran Ashwin took 2/23 in his quota of four overs whereas Trent Boult registered 1/16 in four overs.

In response, Rajasthan Royals got off to a steady start to the game. The opening pair namely, Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal added 87 runs for the opening wicket before Marcus Stoinis dismissed the left-handed batsman for 44 runs.

Marcus Stoinis was the one who provided the much-needed breakthrough and the Royals were gradually off the track. As the overs progressed, the pressure started to mount on the Royals.

They could have chased down the target but succumbed to LSG bowlers’ pressure and eventually ended up falling short of the target. Lucknow Super Giants won the game by 10 runs in a thrilling low-scoring encounter. Jaiswal and Buttler scored 44 and 40 runs respectively. Avesh Khan was the pick of the bowlers for LSG as he registered 3/25 in four overs.
