Gautam Gambhir ruthlessly blasts David Warner after shoddy display in the first three innings

In the first three innings played by Australia so far, if there is one man who has only had disappointment so far is no other than one of the terrorizing batters of world cricket, David Warner. The Australian opener has not been able to shake off the early jitters and the Indian bowlers have pegged him severely.

Warner, however, is not new to Indian surfaces and have been playing IPL for a staggering amount of time that makes him one of the contenders in the Aussie line-up who should be able to navigate the Indian surfaces with panache. Much to the contrary, he seems confused and is barely able to react the early seam that the Indian bowlers have mined so efficiently.

Here is what Gautam Gambhir had to say about David Warner

Former Indian batter, Gautam Gambhir has been very disappointed in the Aussie opener and didn’t leave any stone unturned to express his dejection in his fellow opening southpaw. Gambhir said, “There is no doubt that if you see this innings from Warner, he was clearly struggling. It was not only against Ashwin, who has an amazing record against him, but also against Mohammed Siraj and Mohammad Shami. This is your third tour and you have been playing in the IPL for 15 years.”

He further added, “It is not that the conditions were very different. The Indian batters go to Australia just 15 days before the Tests, get to play one practice match, and you have played a lot in India and despite that, you have such numbers.”

Not only did Gambhir highlighted why is Warner lacking but he also blasted the Aussie opener, stating, “When you rate Indian batters based on their performances when they go to Australia, if you rate David Warner’s performances similarly, he has struggled a lot in both India and England in Test cricket. He has not liked playing Test cricket in both England and India, so we shouldn’t say that he is an amazing batter. He is an amazing batter only in Australian conditions and nowhere else outside.”
