"Green kit looks really sick" - Twitter reacts as RCB players to don green jerseys for home game against RR on April 23

Royal Challengers Bangalore are one of the few teams that are yet to win the title since the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League. They have made it to the finals of the tournament three times in their journey.

Unfortunately, they failed to come out on top in clutch moments of the game, which haunted them in all three final encounters. RCB made it to the first IPL final in the 2009 edition and lost to Deccan Chargers Hyderabad.

On the other hand, RCB reached the second IPL final in the 2011 edition but lost to Chennai Super Kings in the epic final showdown. RCB reached the third IPL final in the 2016 edition but lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final.

Royal Challengers Bangalore have been consistent in the last three editions of the Indian Premier League. They are the only team that made it to the playoffs in IPL 2020, 2021 and 2022 seasons respectively.

Talking about their performance in the last season, they reached the playoffs by finishing fourth on the table. Besides that, they went on to knock Lucknow Super Giants out of the tournament in the Eliminator Clash.

Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore players are set to don green jerseys for the home fixture against Rajasthan Royals on April 23 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

For the record, RCB introduced the ‘green jersey’ as part of their “Go Green” initiative in 2011. The main purpose of this is to promote environmental sustainability and create awareness about ecological issues. Interestingly, RCB has played 1 match wearing green jerseys every season since IPL 2011.

As far as RCB’s performance is concerned, they opened their account with a win over Mumbai Indians at their fortress. After that, they lost back-to-back games against the likes of Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants.
