“He loves to have that banter against the Aussies and raises his game” – Sanjay Bangar reckons Virat Kohli will create an impact in the Border Gavaskar Trophy series

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli will be looking forward to the upcoming Test challenge against the Aussies, which is just a few days away from getting started. The Border Gavaskar Trophy series is so important for India as a series win would surely help them secure a spot in the ICC WTC final.

The first Test of the four-match Test series will go all guns blazing on February 9 at VCA Stadium in Nagpur. Virat Kohli is one of the players to watch out for in the upcoming Test series. His performances in Test format took a big hit and it’s really been a long time since he scored a century.

While he ended his ODI century drought after nearly 40 months during the third ODI against Bangladesh, he is yet to end his Test century drought, with his last Test century coming against Bangladesh back in 2019 in a day-night pink-ball affair.

Since then, the run machine did struggle to chip in with a triple-digit score. However, Kohli has a great opportunity to end his Test century drought during the four-match Test series against the Aussies. If he would score one more century, his total century tally would go to “75”.
