“I am from Mumbai, he is from….” – Yashasvi Jaiswal says he has a good connection with Rohit Sharma

Rajasthan Royals’ youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal has been making the right noises with the bat in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. The left-handed batsman seems to have got solution to all tough challenges that he has been facing this season.

The youngster brought the best out of himself in the game against Mumbai Indians where he scored a maiden IPL century at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai recently. He scored 124 off 62 balls with the help of 16 fours and 8 sixes to his name at a strike rate of 200.

His knock powered Rajasthan Royals to 212/7 in 20 overs. However, the youngster ended up on the losing side as Mumbai Indians chased down the target with three balls to spare. Yashasvi Jaiswal was adjudged the man of the match for his surreal knock.

As things stand, Yashasvi Jaiswal is the leading run-getter for Rajasthan Royals this season. Moreover, he is also the second-leading run-scorer in the ongoing edition of the IPL with 428 runs in nine games at an average of 47.56.

He has slammed one century and three half-centuries this season and seems to be in fantastic touch with the bat. Meanwhile, in a recent interview with TOI, Yashasvi Jaiswal opened up that he really has a good connection with Rohit Sharma.

Elaborating about the same, he said that he is from Mumbai and added that Rohit Sharma is also from Mumbai. Furthermore, he said he played under Rohit Sharma. He said that Rohit Sharma knows him very well.

After the game between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals, Rohit Sharma hugged Yashasvi Jaiswal and then praised him a lot. Last but not least, he said he enjoyed talking to him before finally concluding that his knock of 124 will remain special to him.

Jaiswal (in TOI) said "I have a good connection with Rohit Bhaiya, I am from Mumbai, he is from Mumbai, I have played under him, he knows me well – after the match, he hugged & praised me a lot. I enjoyed talking to him & this innings will remain special to me".
