India’s fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat made a comeback to the Test team after 12 long years as he played his second Test match against the Bangladesh national cricket team at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka.

The southpaw was expected to play the first Test against the Tigers in Chattogram but owing to a delay in visa, he couldn’t play the game. He went on to take his maiden wicket in the longest format of the game by getting rid of Zakir Hasan.

Overall, he took two wickets in the first innings and then he followed it up with one more wicket in the second innings. Unadkat recently led the Saurashtra cricket team to Ranji Trophy 2022 glory by beating the Maharashtra cricket team in the finals.

Notably, he was duly rewarded with a Test call-up after twelve years. He couldn’t control his excitement and happiness after he made a comeback to the national cricket team. While speaking to the news agency PTI, Unadkat said the comeback was very emotional for his family and his wife.

The experienced southpaw further added that his wife believed in him more than he did. Unadkat also highlighted that he literally felt the same goosebumps that he felt twelve years ago. For the record, Unadkat made his Test debut against the South African cricket team in Centurion in 2010.

Since then, he didn’t play a Test for over 12 years before he made a comeback to the Test team for the Bangladesh series. At the moment, Jaydev Unadkat is not thinking of a Test spot against Australia for the four-match Test series despite his return to the team.

He made it very clear that he is not expecting anything and wants to focus on doing well for the Saurashtra cricket team in Ranji Trophy.i
