Ilias Akhomach Transfer News: SPORT reports that Leeds United has officially signed Ilias Akhomach. The English team has signed the 19-year-old sensation from Barcelona. Assuming all goes as planned, the youngster will join the English club’s roster for the next season.
Several of Europe’s best teams have been keeping tabs on Akhomach for some time. The 19-year-old was highly sought after by teams because of his promising future. According to sources, however, Javi Gracia’s squad has reached an agreement to acquire the promising young player from the Spain Under-19 national team.
The young prodigy has worked his way up through Barcelona’s youth program and has even played on the first squad. The Catalan giants saw greatness in the 19-year-old, who has already made three appearances for the first squad. But things have changed dramatically recently.
In the summer, Akhomach’s contract with FC Barcelona will end. Both the team and the player were excited to sign a new deal. But they haven’t been able to find common ground, so the adolescent is exploring other options.

Since Akhomach and Barcelona were unable to agree on a contract extension, his engagement with the team as of late has been minimal. It’s also quite likely that he’ll be leaving this summer. Leeds won the bidding for the young star, but Arsenal was also interested in the Barcelona prodigy.
The Gunners were interested in adding the 19-year-old winger to their roster. Mikel Arteta values developing young talent, and he would have greatly benefited from having Akhomach on his roster. However, it seems that Leeds United has defeated Arsenal.
