Team India are locking horns with the New Zealand cricket team in the second of the three-match T20I series. The second T20I is currently being played at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.

Earlier, the Black Caps got the better of Team India by 21 runs at JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi and took the first lead in the series. The second T20I is a must-win game for India in order to stay alive in the series.

Meanwhile, New Zealand’s stand-in captain, Mitchell Santner won the toss and chose to bat first. The Black Caps literally ran through a batting collapse as they lost wickets like a pack of cards.

The visitors didn’t recover after Indian bowlers chipped in with disciplinary bowling performances. Mitchell Santner top-scored with 19 runs off 23 balls including a boundary. In the end, New Zealand could score 99/8 in their quota of 20 overs.

Ishan Kishan gets dismissed for 19 off 32 balls

India’s young southpaw, Ishan Kishan had a terrible day at the office as they not only wasted too many deliveries during his stay at the crease but also failed to add flesh to the team’s scoreboard in the run-chase as he batted at a strike rate of 59.38.

The wicketkeeper-batsman didn’t really look comfortable ever since he came out to bat as he played out too many dot balls. The New Zealand bowles tried their maximum best to keep the southpaw in check and they even succeeded in keeping him silent.

The wicketkeeper-batsman was run out by the combined efforts of Glenn Phillips and Mitchell Santner as he made his way back to the dressing room after scoring just 19 off 32 balls.
