Australia will be hosting the Indian Women’s Team in September and October 2021. The tour will have three Women’s One Day International matches in the month of September, one day and night test between 30 September to 3 October, and three Women’s T20 Matches in October. Indian Women’s Team will be playing their first Day and Night Test. Indian Women’s Team played a test in Australia before this was in February and March 2006. Meg Lanning will be leading the Australian Squad in all three formats whereas Mithali Raj will lead the Indian team in Test and ODI and Harmanpreet Kaur in T20s.
The Indian women’s national cricket team, nicknamed the Women in Blue, was formed in 1973. In 1976, they played their first match against West Indies and Registered their first Test win in November 1978 against West Indies in Patna. The Women’s Cricket Association of India was merged with the Board of Control for Cricket in India in 2006.
The Australian women’s national cricket team was formed in 1931. They are on top in all the rankings given by the ICC. Australia played their first Test match in 1934–35 against England. Australia has won more World Cups than all other teams combined—winning the titles in 1978, 1982, 1988, 1997, 2005, and 2013.

The tour was originally scheduled to take place in January 2021, however, it was in doubt because BCCI did not want to commit to the schedule. Later on 31st December 2020, Cricket Australia announced that the tour has been postponed by a year. On 20 May 2021, Cricket Australia announced the fixtures for the series.
