IPL 2022: BCCI Set COVID-19 Protocols For Mega Auction

IPL 2022: With the blockbuster auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2022 just around the horizon, all ten IPL teams will be hard at work developing new ideas. The bidding event will take place in Bengaluru on the 12th and 13th of February. As many as 590 players, including 370 Indians and 220 international players, will be put up for auction, and it will be intriguing to watch how the final teams will be assembled.

Meanwhile, the IPL 2022 will be a spectacular event, with two new clubs — Lucknow and Ahmedabad – joining the fray. The IPL 2022 will thus have ten teams for the first time in its history since 2011. Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has requested that the franchises confirm the names of individuals who would be present for the auction by Friday (February 4).

At the IPL 2022 auction table, a maximum of eight participants may be present at the same time

IPL 2022: BCCI Set COVID-19 Protocols For Mega Auction

According to a report in Cricbuzz, a franchisee may have a maximum of 8 members present at the event and the IPL 2022 auction table. It has been learned that members arriving in Bengaluru would not be required to serve any quarantine unless there is an abroad member participating in the event. Given that the member hasn’t been outside of India in the recent past, a pair of negative RT-PCR test results obtained within 72 hours of the IPL 2022 auction date should be sufficient evidence.

Members who have arrived in India at least seven days before the IPL 2022 auction are eligible to participate. They must, however, have been subjected to a seven-day quarantine period upon their arrival in India.

“All participants in the auction will be required to submit to two tests within 72 hours of the auction’s start time before February 11, 2022, at noon. These tests should ideally be performed between the hours of 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on the 9th and 10th of February, respectively. This information must be communicated with the medical team,” according to a BCCI statement reported by Cricbuzz.

According to another protocol, “all participants who have returned to India from overseas in the last 15 days will be required to undergo a mandatory 7-day quarantine, after which they will be required to undergo COVID RTPCR tests on days 8 and 9 and return with two negative reports to be eligible to participate in the IPL 2022 auction.”
