"It is absolutely disgraceful & both are never held accountable for making things up", When Shane Warne slammed two Australian publications for writing bad articles about his personal life

Last year, Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne died in Thailand after an apparent heart attack. He was one of the best players in cricket history. All of cricket was stunned by the loss of the renowned spinner, as condolences poured in from across the globe.

Warne was a legendary spin bowler, and he became the first to collect 700 career wickets in the Test format. Warne was a divisive figure off the field. He had several battles with other players during his career but was still held in high regard by his fellow teammates.

The life of the magical spinner was full of drama and intrigue, and he was often associated to several women. He went so far as to pay a South African lady to keep quiet about their relationship. Once, advertisements for Warne’s poker firm appeared on a site aimed towards adults.

Both Warne’s professional and private lives have been the subject of extensive media coverage. The Australian leg-spinner was understandably upset when pieces regarding his private life were published in 2018 in two Australian publications, namely Woman’s Day and New Idea.

It was reported in the magazines that Warne’s ex-wife Simone Callahan did not approve of how he was influencing their kid. Some went so far as to say that Warne’s influence led to Warne’s own kid getting into gambling.

What did Shane Warne say?

Warne took to Twitter to attack the two periodicals. In a series of tweets, he labeled them both “disgraceful” and otherwise ripped at them. The leg-spinner had already filed a lawsuit against both of them.

“I’ve read some crap in my time, but New Idea has taken the cake for making crap up now & it amazes me how the regulators allow this to continue in both Woman’s day and No idea! It is absolutely disgraceful & both are never held accountable for making things up. Why?” Warne had wrote on Twitter.

Warne was incensed by the publications’ inclusion of pornographic material aimed towards his children. Warne and his then-girlfriend Liz Hurley caused quite a commotion in 2012 when they sold their private vacation photos to New Day magazine.
