“It’s clear that Virat Kohli is calling umpire biased” – Twitter reacts after Virat Kohli opens up on Nitin Menon’s umpire call for Travis Head

Team India are currently engaged in the fourth and final Test match against the Australian cricket team at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Australia won the toss and chose to bat first on a good batting track.

The balls were coming onto the bat so nicely, giving the batters a cutting edge in playing shots. Aussies posted a humongous total of 480 runs in the first innings with the help of Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green’s knocks.

While Usman Khawaja scored 180, Cameron Green scored 114. On the other hand, Team India responded with 571 runs in the first innings with the help of Virat Kohli’s 186 and Shubman Gill’s 128.

Virat Kohli reacts to Nitin Menon’s umpire call for Travis Head

Team India had a healthy lead of 91 runs in the first innings. In reply, Australia lost Matthew Kuhnemann for 6 runs after he fell prey to Ravichandran Ashwin for a leg-before wicket in the fourth ball of the 11th over.

However, Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne stitched together a 139-run stand for the second wicket. During their partnership, Ravichandran Ashwin outsmarted Travis Head with a tricky delivery before the lunch session.

The southpaw tried to defend the ball in the first place but misjudged the line completely. As it turned out, the ball went on to strike the batsman’s pads and it felt like the ball was just going to hit the leg stump.

While the Indians appealed in unison, the on-field umpire Nitin Menon was not interested. However, Rohit Sharma and Co took the review, only to learn that the ball was just hitting the leg-stump but the impact was a long way from the stumps.

However, Travis Head survived, thanks to the umpire’s call. Virat Kohli was caught on the stump mic saying that if he was the umpire, then he would have given out there in the first place.
