Jason Roy Suffer 2 Matches Ban and 2500 Pounds Fine From ECB

According to the most recent developments, Jason Roy has been chastised by the Cricket Disciplinary Commission of the England and Wales Cricket Board for his actions (ECB). The opening batsman has been judged to have engaged in biassed behaviour. As a result, the commission imposed penalties against Roy on Tuesday (March 22). This includes a two-match suspension and a fine of 2500 pounds. All of which must be paid by March 31.

Particularly noteworthy is that, based on Roy’s behaviour, the ban will be extended for a further 12 months. According to a news statement published by the ECB, Roy acted in a way that may be considered detrimental. The 31-year-old also acknowledged his involvement. Even though the specifics of Roy’s violation are yet unknown, the ECB has issued a ruling on the case.

“Jason Roy has been sanctioned by the Cricket Discipline Commission after admitting to a charge of conducting himself in a manner that is prejudicial to the interests of cricket or that may bring the game of cricket, the ECB, and himself into disrepute, in contravention of ECB Directive 3.3, according to the ECB statement.

“After conducting an extensive hearing during which all available evidence was considered, the Disciplinary Panel determined that 1. Mr. Roy should be suspended from the next two England matches in which he is eligible to be selected. But that such suspension should be suspended for 12 months if he maintains good conduct; and 2. pay a fine of £2,500 by March 31, 2022,”according to a press release.

It should be mentioned that Roy has withdrawn from the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2022. He claimed bio-bubble fatigue as the reason. A lot of people were taken aback by the decision since Roy had been in excellent form throughout this year’s Pakistan Super League (PSL). Furthermore, the swashbuckling opener has now declared that he would be taking a little break from the game to spend more time with his young family.
