"Just to get out under 30 again" - Twitter reacts after Virat Kohli spent extra hours against spinners in the net session

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli failed to make his presence count at the crease during the first innings of the first Test match against the Australian national cricket team at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur.

India’s run-scoring machine looked in upbeat mode when he came out to bat. The way he smashed two boundaries gave us a big hint that he would go on to convert the good start into a big knock.

However, as it turned out, he fell prey to Todd Murphy’s delivery in the first ball of the 53rd over. Kohli tried to play the shot behind but ended up getting a feather of an edge off his willow.

Alex Carey made no mistake behind the stumps as he caught the ball in his safe pair of gloves. Kohli made his way back to the dressing room after scoring only 12 runs.

Apart from Kohli, the likes of Rohit Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel chipped in with valuable contributions to the team. India went on to win the game by an innings and 132 runs and took the first lead in the series.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli hit the training session in the build-up to the second Test match against Australia. The upcoming Test will kick off tomorrow at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

According to a source in the PTI, Virat Kohli spent some additional hours against spinners in the net session. The source further added that the run machine came earlier than the Indian team cricket team.

He also played quite a lot in the rough-created pitch. Kohli is one of the players to watch out for in the upcoming game and will be looking forward to ending his Test century drought. His last Test ton came against Bangladesh back in 2019 and since then, he failed to score a Test century.
