It was yet another good day at the office for Chennai Super Kings as they churned out a beautiful result at home despite posting only a decent total on the board against Delhi Capitals. CSK chipped in with disciplinary bowling performances when it mattered the most.
The yellow army put up a total of 167/8 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. With the help of collective efforts of the batters, CSK were able to find runs and put up a challenging total. MS Dhoni scored a quickfire 20 off 9 balls whereas Shivam Dube chipped in with 25 off 11 balls.
On the other side of the coin, Mitchell Marsh chipped in with stellar bowling performance as he accounted for three dismissals. He got rid of Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni and registered 3/18 in three overs.
MS Dhoni puts his hand on Kuldeep Yadav’s head after the match
Delhi Capitals took pride in the fact that they restricted CSK to a pretty decent total. However, the same wasn’t seen in their batting unit. Delhi Capitals failed to show a lot of intent in the run-chase as they ended up losing wickets at regular intervals.
As it turned out, they ended up mounting pressure on themselves and already played out too many dot balls. Delhi Capitals lost the game by 27 runs and incurred their seventh-straight defeat over CSK at Chepauk.
After the game, a picture featuring MS Dhoni putting his hand on Kuldeep Yadav’s head has gone viral on social media. Fans were recollecting the good memories Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal made under the captaincy of MS Dhoni during his stint at Team India.
