Marnus Labuscagne picks his favourite IPL team ahead of the start of IPL 2023

On Monday, March 27, the world’s best Test batter, Marnus Labuschangne, took to Twitter for a short Q&A session with his followers. In a matter of minutes, thousands of his fans bombarded him with queries, the most popular of which concerned Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

If Steve Smith is not included, Labuschagne said he would love to bat with Virat Kohli in the Fab four. The 28-year-old went on to say that the pair can take a lot of 2s since they are both strong runners in between the wicket.

What did Marnus Labuscagne say about Virat Kohli?

“Has to be @imVkohli, we’d run heaps of 2s,” Labuschagne replied.

As we wait, the Australian international has also spoken highly of Rohit Sharma, saying that it is a pleasure to watch the Indian captain bat. He praised the 35-year-bat old’s swing, saying it’s one of his favourite aspects of the starting position.

What did he say about Rohit Sharma?

“More than one word, but watching him bat is easy on the eye – smooth bat swing,” Labuschagne said.

His favourite IPL team?

The Australian superstar said later in the Q&A that the Royal Challengers Bangalore is his favourite IPL squad. Note that in 15 years of competition, the team has never won the trophy despite entertaining their supporters with some spectacular cricket.

Meanwhile, Chinnaswamy Stadium will host the 16th edition after being closed for four years because of COVID-19. Included among the 2023 honorees are AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle, two of the franchise’s all-time best cricketers. The Faf du Plessis-led RCB team recognized their immense contribution to the expansion of the franchise by inducting them into the RCB Hall of Fame.

Nevertheless, on April 2 at their home stadium, they will face the defending champions Mumbai Indians for the first time this season.
