‘Tata’ Group has become the title sponsor of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022 season) replacing ‘Vivo’. ‘Vivo’ has been the title sponsor of the IPL in the previous cycle. However, due to the ongoing tensions on the Indo-China border, ‘Vivo’ has to skip a phase of the IPL in 2021. ‘Dream 11’ has replaced ‘Vivo’ in that season of the Indian Premier League. The chairman of IPL, Brijesh Patel has confirmed that the ‘Tata’ group will be the title sponsor of IPL from the next season. The general secretary of BCCI, Jay Shah has also welcomed the ‘Tata’ group as the title sponsor of IPL.
‘Tata’ is a renowned name in the Indian industry and the emergence of the ‘Tata’ group will certainly add more value to the competition. The IPL might be held in Maharashtra this year. However, it is not yet confirmed. The BCCI will certainly check the possibility of organising this year’s IPL in India.
