Australia’s young all-rounder Cameron Green hogged the limelight recently after he became the second most expensive player in the history of the Indian Premier League auction after he was roped in by Mumbai Indians for a record price of INR 17.50 at the mini-auction held in Kochi.

The youngster himself admitted that he was pinching himself after he was sold for a staggering amount. Days after he was sold for a huge price, Cameron Green said he didn’t do much to earn that much price at the auction and also added that doesn’t change who he actually is.

Meanwhile, the all-rounder, who is considered the next big thing in Australian cricket is currently playing for the national cricket team in the second of the three-match Test series against the South African national cricket team.

Cameron Green bags his first fifer in Test cricket

The youngster made a sensational impact with the red cherry in the first innings against South Africa as he went on to bag his first-ever five-wicket haul in the longest format of the game and for which, he received a standing ovation from the crowd at the MCG.

Talking about the second Test, Australia’s Test captain, Pat Cummins won the toss and chose to bowl first. Australian bowlers mounted immense pressure on the Proteas’ batting line-up, leaving them in a spot of bother at 67/5.

However, the likes of Marco Jansen and Kyle Verreynne scored 59 and 52 runs respectively as Proteas were bowled out for 189 runs in the first innings. Cameron Green registered 5/27 in 10.3 overs where he bowled three maiden overs to his name.

Apart from him, Mitchell Starc also bowled pretty well and accounted for two dismissals whereas Scott Boland and Nathan Lyon took a wicket apiece. On the other side of the coin, Australia ended Day 1 with 45 for the loss of 1 wicket.
