“Of course Ahmedabad gets India Pak” – Twitter reacts as Ahmedabad is likely to host India vs Pakistan 2023 ODI World Cup Match

The entire cricket fraternity is busy witnessing the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. Post the IPL, there are many important tournaments lined up including the World Test Championship, The Ashes, Asia Cup and the ICC World Cup in 2023.

The ICC ODI World Cup is going to be staged entirely in India for the first time in history. The mega event is scheduled to be held in the October-November window and it is expected to kick off on October 5.

India and Pakistan have locked horns with each other only in the ICC or ACC events. Both teams haven’t played a bilateral series since 2012. However, since the World Cup is slated to be held in India, there were doubts surrounding Pakistan’s participation.

However, in reality, if Pakistan skips the tournament, they will incur massive losses. As a result, Pakistan will have no option other than participating in the tournament. The BCCI will be announcing the World Cup schedule at a grand launch once the IPL 2023 comes to a close.

Ahmedabad is likely to host India vs Pakistan 2023 ODI World Cup Match

Meanwhile, as per the latest reports by Indian Express, Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is likely to host the India vs Pakistan 2023 ODI World Cup match. It will be one heck of a contest at the world’s largest cricket stadium with a seating capacity of 1 lakh.

If things go as per schedule, the ODI World Cup will kick off from October 5, with the likes of Nagpur, Bengaluru, Trivandrum, Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Rajkot, Indore, Bengaluru and Dharamshala being short-listed as venues even for practice fixtures.

Out of these venues, only seven will host Team India’s matches. On the other hand, Ahmedabad could be the only venue where Team India play two games, provided they make it to the final.
