Virat Kohli has arrived in Delhi for Sunday’s Indian Premier League match against the Delhi Capitals. RCB published a video on their social media accounts reminiscing about Kohli’s boyhood in this place.
Kohli’s coach, Rajkumar Sharma, recently shared a fun anecdote about the ex-Indian captain. Sharma said that none of the younger bowlers had been able to dismiss Kohli in practice. After seeing the quality of play, Kohli begged Sharma to move him up to the senior team’s practice time.
Sharma said that Kohli stood out from the rest of the academy’s students. While playing, he was both intensely focused and mischievous. Sharma said that Kohli has always been upbeat about joining the Indian squad and that he had got his wish.
Kohli once was smacked in the chest when he began practising with the more experienced players. Similarly concerned was Kohli’s mother, but it was her son who ultimately persuaded her to keep training with the team. Sharma has praised Kohli as a “god-given” ability.
The incident when Virat Kohli told his mother that he will play with elders only despite getting hit on chest
In the same video, Kohli’s pal says the right-handed batsman has been planning his career in cricket since 2002. He used his scrapbook as evidence.
In 2019, the Virat Kohli Pavilion was opened by the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA). At the helm of DDCA at the time was Rajat Sharma. Kohli expressed his appreciation for the recognition and hoped that it will serve as motivation for up-and-coming cricket players.
Kohli has a fantastic record in IPL games that are held in Delhi. He has scored 428 runs in nine games at a fantastic average of 71.33 and a strike rate of 149.65. In those contests, he has scored five fifty-plus scores.
“Virat never used to get out to the juniors teammates so he came to and said ‘Put me in the elder’s group’. He once got hit on the chest, but he told his mother I’ll play with elders only. He’s special and god-gifted talent,” Rajkumar Sharma said.
“I had a Scrapbook, for remembering each friend, they used to write about them and Virat Kohli has written as well, he wrote his ambition to become an Indian cricketer in 2002 or 2003,” Kohli’s friend said.
