“Ram’s Chole Bhature in Rajouri Garden 110 per cent”, WATCH Virat Kohli’s solemn demeanor abruptly shifts as an official interrupts his earnest talk with Rahul Dravid

"Ram’s Chole Bhature in Rajouri Garden 110 per cent", WATCH Virat Kohli's solemn demeanor abruptly shifts as an official interrupts his earnest talk with Rahul Dravid

Day 2 of the second Test match between India and Australia was a nail-biter thanks to the teams trading blows throughout the day. Despite Australia’s early dominance, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja‘s 59-run partnership slowed the tourists and got the Indian scoreboard moving.

As has been the case for most of this Test, Australia got another practically quickly following Jadeja’s dismissal, this time in the shape of Kohli. But, the near proximity of the ball to Kohli’s pad and bat during his LBW dismissal has subsequently aroused discussion.

The dismissal clearly irritated Kohli, who was seen venting to his teammates for quite some time after returning to the locker room. He was then spotted talking with head coach Rahul Dravid while a official brought him a boxed meal. As soon as he sees it, Kohli claps his hands once, clearly urging the official to keep it to himself for the time being, before continuing his talk with Dravid, who is smiling as well.

While it’s unclear from the video what was being served, many on social media have speculated that it was Kohli’s favorite food, chole bhature.

Day 2 of India’s chase of Australia’s first innings total of 263 saw Kohli hit 44 off 84 balls, and his partnership with Jadeja got the team out of a jam. Despite the fact that the partnership between Kohli and Jadeja gave the home team’s innings new life, it was Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin, who scored 114 runs for the ninth wicket off of 177 balls, that really put the screws to Australia.

With their combined efforts, the duo cut Australia’s advantage to one run before the Indians were finally dismissed. The day finished on a positive note, though, as Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne led the way to a score of 61/1 for the visitors in only 12 overs.
