“Remember KL Rahul averages 62.25 at The Oval, it will be a big loss if he misses WTC Final” – Twitter reacts as KL Rahul is likely to miss WTC Final 2023

KL Rahul is one of the brightest talents in Indian cricket. The right-handed batsman hasn’t been able to uplift himself when it comes to score runs with the bat for a long time now. His form declined drastically and he hardly produced a spark with the bat in the ongoing IPL season.

However, during the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore, KL Rahul picked up an untimely injury on the field, which proved to be a nasty one. He was quickly taken off the field with the help of physios.

He didn’t come out to bat as an opener but he showed up at the last stage by coming out to bat at No.9 and drew plaudits for his fighting spirit. He missed the next game against Chennai Super Kings as Krunal Pandya led the team from the front.

The match yielded no result as rain played spoilsport. CSK and LSG shared a point each. Later on, it was confirmed that KL Rahul has been ruled out of the remainder of the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League.

KL Rahul is likely to miss WTC Final 2023

Meanwhile, if the reports doing the rounds are to be believed, KL Rahul is likely to miss the World Test Championship Final 2023 against the Australian cricket team. The WTC final is scheduled to be played from June 7 to 11, with June 12 set as the reserve day.

The highly-anticipated fixture will kick off at The Kennington Oval in London and it is a venue where KL Rahul averages 62.25 where he scored 249 runs in 2 games (4 innings), registering his best score of 149 against England.

If he misses the WTC Final, it would be a terrible blow to Team India’s chances against Australia. On the other hand, the last time India won the ICC title was back in 2013 when they won the Champions Trophy by beating England in England. Since then, they are yet to end their ICC title drought.
