MS Dhoni was the most successful captain of the Indian cricket team during the playing days of his cricketing career. Under his captaincy, Team India became a formidable force to be reckoned with in international cricket.

Under his tutelage, Team India won many accolades and decorated the trophy cabinet. MS Dhoni is the only man in the history of cricket to have guided the team to three different ICC trophies. MS Dhoni served as the captain of the Indian cricket team from 2007 to 2017.

During his tenure as skipper, India won ICC T20 World Cup 2007, CB Series (Commonwealth Bank Series) 2007-08, Asia Cup 2010, ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, ICC Champions Trophy 2013 and Asia Cup 2016.

Overall, India won a total of six major titles under MS Dhoni. In fact, MS Dhoni was not only a great captain, but he was also a great batsman and an exceptional wicketkeeper behind the stumps. MS Dhoni scored 10,773 runs in ODIs, 4876 runs in Tests and 1617 runs in T20Is.

MS Dhoni has the biggest fanbase in India: Harbhajan Singh

MS Dhoni has a huge fan following in India, particularly among cricket fans. Notably, his spectacular achievements as a player and a leader have earned him a massive fanbase in the country. Moreover, his calm and composed demeanour, his top-tier wicket-keeping skills, and his finishing abilities with the bat have earned him many admirers over the years.

Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer, Harbhajan Singh reserved the highest respect for MS Dhoni by adding that the latter has the biggest fanbase in India. While speaking on Star, Harbhajan Singh said there is no bigger cricketer than MS Dhoni in India.

MS Dhoni retired from international cricket in late August 15, 2020. However, he is still playing in the IPL for Chennai Super Kings. Under his captaincy, CSK have won four IPL titles so far.
