“Siraj has indeed made giant strides in his journey” – Twitter reacts as Mohammed Siraj has taken most wickets in the powerplay in ODIs since 2022

Mohammed Siraj

India’s right-arm paceman Mohammed Siraj was recently seen in cricketing action during the first ODI against the Sri Lankan cricket team at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. He has been making waves in international cricket ever since he made his debut.

Although he was pretty expensive in the initial stages of his cricketing career, he did pick up lessons on the go and sort out his woes before it was too late. He is turning out to be one of the most productive pacers in the Indian cricket team.

If he actually maintains consistency in the longer run, he is certainly destined for greatness. The right-arm fast bowler delivered the goods ever so well in the first ODI against Sri Lanka. Notably, he ended up as the most-economical bowler in the first game.

Mohammed Siraj has taken the most wickets in the powerplay in ODIs since 2022

The Hyderabad-born fast bowler bowled seven overs in the first ODI wherein he conceded only 30 runs and also bowled a maiden over. He has accounted for two dismissals at an economy rate of 4.30.

It is also worth mentioning here that Mohammed Siraj has bagged the most wickets for India in the powerplay overs in One-Day Internationals since 2022. It is absolutely vital for him to keep this form going in full flow given the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup slated to be played in India later this year in the October-November window.

Overall, Mohammed Siraj has played 17 One-Day Internationals wherein he has bagged 26 wickets to his name at an impressive economy rate of 4.82, registering his personal best bowling figures of 3/29.

Meanwhile, the right-arm pacer must be gearing up for the second ODI which is slated to be played on January 12, Thursday at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Siraj will be looking forward to delivering the goods in the next ODI as India will be looking to win the game and the series.
