“Someone’s absence going to be someone’s gain” – Twitter reacts after KL Rahul resumes training ahead of the Border Gavaskar Trophy

"Someone's absence going to be someone's gain" - Twitter reacts after KL Rahul resumes training ahead of the Border Gavaskar Trophy

Lokesh Rahul was last seen donning the Indian outfit during the ODI series against Sri Lanka. After that, he opted out of the home assignment against New Zealand owing to his marriage.

India’s star cricketer KL Rahul married his long-time girlfriend Athiya Shetty on January 23 and the pictures of the same spread like wildfire on social media portals. Athiya Shetty is a popular Bollywood actress and is the daughter of Suniel Shetty.

The 30-year-old actress shot into prominence after she portrayed the leading lady in Bollywood movies including the likes of Hero, Mubarakan and Motichoor Chaknachoor. On the other hand, KL Rahul represented Team India in 45 Tests, 51 ODIs and 72 T20Is.

Meanwhile, the right-handed batsman made the headlines today after he resumed the training ahead of the Border Gavaskar Trophy series. The pictures of him kick-starting his training have gone viral on the internet.

Since Rishabh Pant’s return date is uncertain at the moment, we can expect KL Rahul to dominate the proceedings for the four-match Test series against the Australian cricket team. It is going to be a huge challenge for Rahul to fill the shoes of Rishabh Pant for the Border Gavaskar Trophy series.

The 30-year-old scored 2604 runs in red-ball cricket including seven centuries and 13 half-centuries at an average of 34.3, registering his personal best score of 199. KL Rahul’s record in Test cricket deteriorated over the years owing to his series of low scores.

Needless to say, he will be looking forward to the challenge as he has all the tools and ingredients to succeed in the Test series. The first of the four-match Test series between India and Australia will be played on February 9 in Nagpur.

The second Test begins on February 17 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The third T20I begins on March 1 in Dharamsala and the fourth Test will begin on March 9 in Ahmedabad.
