“The RRR does it for KKR”, Twitter reacts as Kolkata Knight Riders pull off a thriller in the final over against Punjab Kings

"The RRR does it for KKR", Twitter reacts as Kolkata Knight Riders pull off a thriller in the final over against Punjab Kings

Here are three mysteries that science has yet to solve: Is there a purpose to our nocturnal activities? Is it only us here in the universe? When the pitch was turning, why did Harpreet Brar just bowl one over, albeit allowing only four runs? The home team wins a nail-biter at Eden Gardens, but only with the help of some clutch hitting from Dre Russ and mediocre leadership from Shikhar.

KKR needed to get off to a blazing start in order to have any chance of chasing down 180, but Rishi Dhawan and Nathan Ellis kept things calm in the beginning and Ellis picked up Gurbaaz. At one point, Jason Roy was dominating the game, but Harpreet Brar was able to close the hole. Despite the spinners making the wicket tough to bat on, captain Nitish Rana held on for a shaky fifty.

With just four overs remaining, KKR still had a long way to go. Russell went on the offensive as Dhawan bowled out his finest bowler, Ellis. He hit Ellis for 15 runs in an over and then hit Sam Curran for three sixes in the previous over. With seven needed off the last over, Arshdeep played very well to keep it close till the very end. However, he made a mistake with the yorker, and Rinku flicked it behind square for four. With this victory, KKR moves up to fifth place, and PBKS finds themselves in a must-win situation.
