“This has gone into the orbit”, Ben Cutting’s 107m Six against Multan Sultans is PSL 2023’s biggest

"This has gone into the orbit", Ben Cutting's 107m Six against Multan Sultans is PSL 2023's biggest

A nail-biter between the Multan Sultans and the Karachi Kings took place in the 11th match of the current Pakistan Super League 2023 at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

The Kings were chasing a challenging 197-run target, but thanks to a scorching start provided by England’s in-form batter James Vince (75 off 34), the team had already passed the 100-run barrier before the ninth Over of the chase.

His untimely Run Out in the next over, though, opened the door for the Multan bowlers to attempt to seize control of the batting order. They were very successful, as they only had to defend 48 runs in the last three Overs and 40 runs in the final 12 deliveries.

Still needing 22 runs off the last over, the Kings had a chance because of another brilliant hit from their captain, Imad Wasim (46 off 26).

The match seemed to be Karachi’s to lose as Imad smashed a waist-high No-Ball from Abbas Afridi for a Six on the very first ball.

Ben Cutting was at the crease for the third ball of the Over, and he hammered a slower delivery delivered right in the slot by Afridi deep into the bleachers in the Cow corner area for a massive 107 meters Six, the longest six of the current PSL 2023 until this point.

The Kings threatened to score 6 runs off the following four deliveries, but Afridi held his nerve to give Multan their fourth victory of the season and keep them in the first place.

Meanwhile, Multan captain Mohammad Rizwan (110* off 64) continued his hot streak by smashing his first PSL century and leading his side to a score of 196-2 after 20 Overs.
