India’s fast bowling sensation Umran Malik who is named in both T20I and ODI squad against Sri Lanka has by far been pretty decent in the ongoing T20I series. During the T20I opener at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, he took two wickets to his name.

The right-arm fast bowler dismissed the likes of Charith Asalanka and skipper Dasun Shanaka. Notably, he registered 2/27 in his quota of 4 overs at an economy of 6.80 and draw encomiums for his superb bowling spell.

Team India pulled off the ropes from the jaws of defeat as they got the better of Sri Lanka by two runs and took the first lead in the series. Meanwhile, the right-arm paceman is part of the ongoing second T20I against Sri Lanka.

The game is currently taking place at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. India’s T20I skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and chose to bowl first. Sri Lanka’s opening pair namely Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis added 80 runs for the first wicket.

During the second T20I, Umran Malik bowled a dream spell as he went on to take three wickets for the first time in international cricket. If the pacer is backed constantly with opportunities and support, he would go on to become one of the best pacers in the business.

He opened his account by getting rid of Bhanuka Rajapaksa in the first ball of the 10th over. After that, he dismissed Charith Asalanka for 37 runs and went on to dismiss Wanindu Hasaranga in the next delivery.
