In an announcement made on Saturday (January 15), the 33-year-old turned to Twitter to share his thoughts. It was a day after India suffered a humiliating Test series loss against South Africa that Kohli made this mind-blowing choice. Despite holding a 1-0 lead, India was unable to claim victory in their first-ever Test series in the rainbow country.

They received a great deal of criticism for doing the same thing. Kohli stepping down as Test captain, on the other hand, never looked to be in the cards. Virat Kohli reveals so much while talking to the media, though this time there wasn’t real updates on the whole thing.

Kohli, who stood down as India’s white-ball captain last year, has also said that he believes the time has come for him to stand down as the country’s Test skipper.

Reports suggest that Team India will have Rohit Sharma back for the Test series against Sri Lanka. It will be played at home and the team will be under new leadership, though some stories have suggested that KL Rahul may take charge.
