Wasim Jaffer suggests a handful of substitutions for Team India

Wasim Jaffer picks two substitutions for India India will be battling it out with Sri Lanka in the second T20I of the ongoing series where the Men in Blue may resort to a handful of changes, considering the chinks in their armour that seemed to worry them in the series opener.

It was a display of searing pace that did the trick for India even though the telling blow was administered by Axar Patel. Yuzvendra Chahal, however, had a day to forget as the Rajasthan Royals spinner was thrashed all around the park.

Wasim Jaffer suggests a couple of changes for Team India

Former Indian opener, Wasim Jaffer had a suggestion for the team management ahead of the second contest that is all set to unfold at the MCA Stadium in Pune.

Talking to ESPNCricinfo, Wasim Jaffer said, “Dropping Yuzvendra Chahal for Washington Sundar would be a huge call since I believe there should be a wrist spinner in the playing XI. Even though Sundar provides balance to the side because of his batting as well as his powerplay bowling, I don’t think that a bowler like Chahal, who has delivered time and again, will be dropped after one bad outing. I think it is too early to consider making that change.”

He further added, “If Arshdeep is available, then I think he will be back in the playing XI. Maybe he will get a chance in place of Harshal Patel. The first T20I was not a good one for Harshal Patel. But apart from that, I do not see any other changes to the playing XI.”

Only time will reveal how India will be lining up for the upcoming contest but Pandya and company will like their bases covered as they would not want it to be another down-the-wire affair especially with the firepower that they have in their hut. They will like to bury the series for good.
