WATCH: Ravichandran Ashwin comes up with an unusual gesture to Marnus Labuschagne in Nagpur Test

India’s veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin scripted history after he became the fastest Indian spinner to take as many as 450 wickets in the history of Test cricket. The experienced cricketer achieved the feat during the first innings of the first Test at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur.

With this unique feat, he also became the only Asian cricketer to have 3000 runs and 450 wickets in the purest format of the game. It is worth mentioning that Ravi Ashwin has slammed five centuries in his Test cricket, with four centuries coming against the West Indies cricket team.

On the other hand, his other century came against the England cricket team. Besides that, the all-rounder has scored as many as 13 half-centuries in his Test career. Ashwin bagged his 450th Test wicket after he dismissed Australia’s wicketkeeper, Alex Carey.

Australia’s wicketkeeper-batter departed after making 36 runs. The southpaw tried to play a reverse sweep shot off Ashwin’s bowling but he ended up mistiming it altogether as the ball went on to shatter the batter’s stumps.

Ravichandran Ashwin’s unusual gesture to Marnus Labuschagne becomes the talking point

Marnus Labuschagne is playing his first Test in India and the No.1 Test batsman has been preparing so hard to play against the tough opponent in this hostile environment. He ticked the flow of runs pretty well when Australia lost two quick wickets.

Marnus and Steven Smith stitched together an 82-run stand for the third wicket. However, Jadeja dismissed the prized wicket of Marnus. The right-handed batsman was inches short of his crease before he was stumped out by Srikar Bharat.

During Marnus’ stay at the crease, there was a bit of an unusual moment between Ravi Ashwin and Marnus. The video clip begins with the off-spinner coming up with an unusual gesture of Marnus, perhaps the spinner was talking to the wicketkeeper.

Marnus misunderstood it and came up with an interesting reaction as well. Many reckon that Ravi Ashwin was trying to play some mind games with Australia’s Test specialist.
